Another great trip to Cuba! Part One.
I was privileged to have Charles Bennetch and life long friend Buddy Reed to join me on my trip to Cuba. It was good to have others to accompany me to see how the churches have been growing by using the Church Growth System. This is my 8th year and 16th trip to Cuba and God continues to bless us. He is blessing because leaders are stepping up and catching the vision to make disciples.
Preacher after preacher told us what they are learning really is making a difference in their growth. Oberto, once with the Methodist church, told us that he now leads a New Testament church because of the training he has learned to implement.
Two years ago, I visited a church of 15. Maribel (standing in front of me) had a vision to start new churches. She feels a call from God. After presenting the Church Growth system, I returned a few months later and the group had grown to 30. They started a new church in the mountains, led by one of the men. On this trip we found out that they have grown to 62. A week later after our visit they baptized 6 more people in the valley church, and 5 in the mountain church, so now they have 73 members! Praise the Lord for their faithfulness.
Please pray for Cuba and the continued work we have to do. We have work to be done in every province of the country. As churches grow more churches want the training. There have been more than 1000 baptisms in the last 2 years in the churches that are implementing the Church Growth System. Also, we found out that there are a lot of problems with the food source. Please pray for the People and their lack of resources.
For about Three years I have been working with Isaac Green and the churches he works with. Four of the eleven churches are implementing the system and they all have seen significant growth. One of the Church leaders testified that the material is really helping the people grow and understand what they need to do to be disciples. I was able to make a presentation to the rest of the churches and they have all committed to implement the system in their churches.
